Silver Seasons
Artist
Michael Michaud was born in Cleveland, Ohio and
raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in
Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife Tricia and their three
children Nicole, Michael, and Shane. Silver Seasons is the
combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making
and his love of nature. Starting as an apprentice mold cutter in
1973, Michael soon became a master precious metal caster and
mold maker. In 1976, seeking more knowledge, Michael moved on to
the Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious School for
American Craftsmen. While studying under esteemed designers Hans
Christenson and Gary Griffin, he mastered many of the techniques
he uses today to capture the beauty and exquisite detail of
nature in metal. After graduation in 1980, Michael returned to
the jewelry manufacturing community and worked for some of
America's leading jewelry designers.
Silver Seasons jewelry is made using
the lost was casting method. Michael has perfected the technique
of creating models from natural elements. After models are made,
Michael manipulates these "copies of nature" into beautiful
jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver, or gold and natural
stones and pearls, Michael's designs have become well known for
their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
