Chris Clark was born October 25, 1958 in Birmingham, Alabama.

When Chris Clark thought he would lose his eyesight due to diabetes, he decided to follow his long time desire to paint while he still could. He began painting on scrap wood and flea market furniture. His grandmother taught him to piece and stitch quilts, and soon Chris had completed his first quilt. His instincts told him to paint a picture on the quilt, and with a mixture of fabric dye and acrylic paint he began to make his "story" quilts. Now with his diabetes under control, he continues to depict scenes from his happy childhood of children at play and church gatherings.  Recently inspired by an idea he had while at church, Chris has begun a new direction in his art work.  He is now creating collages with found objects and paint.

Chris Clark is represented by many galleries and is featured in the book Revelations: Alabama's Visionary Folk Artists.
