Frankie Scarborough was born February 9, 1959 in Modesto, California, the youngest in a large family. At age 2 ˝ he experienced a traumatic brain injury from which he lost the use of his left arm and was blinded in his right eye. With permanent mental disabilities as well, Frankie attended a local school for children with special needs and in 1968 enrolled in the Alan Short Center in Stockton, California. There he began making paintings and sculpture and realizing the talent within himself. With a warm and loving personality his paintings and drawings exhibit a love of color, an innate design ability and his joy at creating them. Frankie’s work has been included in a number of group and solo exhibitions.
