Richard Moshier was born July 7, 1934, in Oxford, Michigan and passed away June 30, 2005 in Spring Hill, Florida.

Dick Moshier never heard childhood nursery rhymes while growing up. When his grandson was born, he discovered a new world he found fascinating. His years of working at many jobs from building houses to running a furniture factory had taught him progressively more about working with wood and in 1983, he began carving wooden toys. He could often be found at civil war reenactments where he sat and intricately carved his totem canes depicting various nursery rhyme characters, dinosaurs and civil war soldiers.

Moshier's carved pieces delight and amaze their audience. His work is included in many private collections.
