Robert Terrell
was born on February 26, 1924 in Stephens Co. Georgia. He grew
up here in the North Georgia Mountains and still calls this
corner of the world home. As a boy he lived close to the land
and came to love animals and the display of nature that
surrounded him. A disabled Navy Veteran, Terrell served three
years in the Pacific during World War II. When he came home to
north Georgia he enrolled in Piedmont College where he earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree and taught in the area for many years
as a substitute teacher. Terrell has no formal training in art
but began to paint on his own in 1998. He enjoys painting so
much that he wonders why he didn’t come to it sooner in his
life. He has always liked traveling and finding new places and
in his work he likes to record both real and imagined scenes. He
has great enthusiasm for painting and for learning about
expressing himself through the medium and his work. It gives him
great pleasure and certainly in the years to come his work will
bring great pleasure to those who view and collect it. |
